creative use of media

Last week I saw a couple of ads in the underground for Granit, a Swedish company dedicated to help us organize our surrounding. They are on a tight budget to say the least. I love their stuff because I like minimal. I love throwing stuff away or giving it away when possible. If I could live in a bag only, I’d be happy. It’s not realistic though. Bags are too small…

Anyway, they had approximately 5 ads in succession (in the escalator) and that was it. Surrounded by other advertisers. The thing that made them stand out was 1 - physical objects sticking out from the ads. Like a price tag or something similar. 2 - tape around their 5 ads. Just like police tape. It said something like “organized area”. Beautiful use of very slight resources.

This is another very effective idea/execution I think:

Strip it down, then add an unexpected detail. By JWT down under.

  1. “slight resources” that i’m sure required a lot of heavy lifting to break old habits in ways of doing things.
